Please read the following important information and then complete and return the form below as soon as possible so we can register your child at our School.
Pupil Premium and Free School Meals
Question Numbers 51 to 57 in the form below relate to the above. We ask all parents with a joint income of less than £16,190 per annum to complete these questions, even if their child is entitled to Universal Free School Meals (all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2). This is because registering for free school meals could raise an extra £1,300 for your child's school to fund valuable support like extra tuition, additional teaching staff, resources or after school activities.
The additional funding is available from central government for every child whose parents are receiving one of the welfare benefits listed in question 56. It is therefore important to complete these questions, even if your child is in Reception to Year 2 so that the school receives as much funding as possible.
The information you provide in answer to these questions will be used by the local authority to confirm receipt of one of the listed welfare benefits. Once this is confirmed, this helps to decide how much money your child's school will receive each year. This information will also be used in relation to children in Year 3 or above to decide whether or not they are eligible for free school meals. The information may also be shared with other Local Authority Departments to offer benefits and services.
The Local Authority is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers and to this end may use the information you have provided in these questions within its Authority for the prevention and detection of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies administering public funds solely for these purposes.
