FOSSIES

Fossies is Sellincourt Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA).

We are a registered Charity (1115824) run on an entirely voluntary basis made up of parents and teachers from the school.

What do we do?

We co-ordinate and run many school events, such as Christmas and Summer fayres, to raise money to spend on anything from vital equipment for the school to class trips and activities.

How you can help

Join FOSSIES!

We are a small and friendly bunch of mums, dads and carers at FOSSIES and we’d love you to join us.

Everyone has something to offer and being a FOSSIES member may help  you discover new skills and connect you to the brilliant Sellincourt community.

But don’t just take our word for it! Lili Lance and Katie Timms are both Sellincourt mums who joined the FOSSIES team.

“My daughter, Luna, came to Sellincourt two years ago following our move to the UK from Montenegro. A parent teacher association is an unfamiliar concept to me as fundraising for schools does not exist in Montenegro. I heard some parents talking about FOSSIES and I asked to get involved. To be honest, I felt a little daunted at first but I am so pleased to be part of a group who can make a valuable contribution to the school and also I have made new friends.” Lili Lance

“My son, Sam, joined reception at Sellincourt last year. I wasn’t working at the time and felt a bit lost. But joining FOSSIES helped me get my confidence back. It really is the friendliest parent teacher group and I’ve met some lovely Sellincourt parents and really feel part of the school community.”  Katie Timms

Other ways to help

Match funding

Many employers will support their employees fundraising efforts. Remember FOSSIES is a registered charity so please check with your HR team to ask if your company could help.

Reaching out to Corporate Sponsors

We need some willing volunteers to speak to local businesses to ask them to sponsor our events - please get in touch with us if you would be willing to send emails or make follow up calls.

Helping out or coming to events

We want to make sure that our events are fun, inclusive and an integral part of the school’s calendar.  The more parents, carers and children who are involved the more fun it is for everyone and, importantly, the more funds we are able to raise to enrich our children’s education.
