Year 1 & 2 Trip to West Wittering Beach
Re: Trip to West Wittering Beach
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, thank you so much for your support in raising money for our trip to West Wittering beach to support our geography topic ‘Why do we love to be beside the seaside?’.
Payment
The remaining payment would be £20 per child.
Please do speak to your child’s class teacher in confidence if this presents as a difficulty.
The cost of the trip to West Wittering Beach is £20 per child and we are asking families to make a contribution towards the overall cost via ParentPay. These trips rely on voluntary contributions from families to cover the overall cost as well as your support to make them possible – please note that if we are unable to secure sufficient contributions, regrettably the trip may not go ahead. With this in mind, if you would like to contribute more towards the trip, then this would be very much appreciated. If you have any questions about payment, please speak to the school office.

Paddling
Children will be allowed to paddle in the water. This will be in a cordoned area and only a small group at a time with two adults. If you do not want your child to paddle, please specify on the consent form.
What to bring
Children can wear their own clothes but these must be appropriate for the beach and weather. This will need to include appropriate footwear (not flipflops) and a sun hat. They must also bring a towel. Please ensure sun cream is applied to your child before we depart and sun cream is packed in their bag so that they can re-apply suncream throughout the day.
Children will need a rucksack to carry their own water bottle, packed lunch and towel. Packed lunches will be provided as per your previous choice. All children in Year 1 and 2 are entitled to a free packed lunch from school. However, if you would prefer to provide your child with a packed lunch from home, please indicate on the consent form below.
Parent Volunteers
We will require parent volunteers. If you are able to volunteer for the day, please select the option on the consent form. Your child’s class teacher will confirm with you if you will be supporting the trip.
Please follow the link below to our school website to complete the consent form for your child to take part in this trip.
If you have any questions or concerns, please talk to either myself or your child’s class teacher.
Many thanks,
Miss De Freitas
