Homework

Early Years (Nursery and Reception)

Teachers will set homework tasks via Tapestry.  These will be practical activities known as ‘Exciting Experiences’.  They will be set on Tapestry on a Friday to be completed sometime over the following week.  The teachers challenge pupils to upload their experiences onto Tapestry to share with their teacher.  The first ‘Exciting Experience’ will be ready on Friday 25th September.

Year 1 to Year 5

Teachers will set homework via an online platform called, ‘Education City’.  Every child will have their own unique login and password.  You will find this stuck in your child’s reading record.  A maths and an English task will be set every Thursday and your child/ren should complete the tasks set by the following Tuesday.  Teachers will monitor who has completed their homework and how they have achieved via ‘Education City’.  The first homework will be set on Thursday 1st October 2020.

Year 6

Teachers will set homework via the online platform ‘Google Classroom’.  This is to prepare them for secondary school and also to enable us to evaluate the impact of this provision for future use across the school.  It will enable the Year 6 teachers to personalise the work set to fully reflect the focus of learning within the classroom setting.  The first homework tasks have already been set.
