School Journey - October 2022

We have arranged for our current Year 5 children to have the opportunity to go on a four night residential activity course to a JCA Adventure Centre called Condover Hall in Shropshire.  The trip will take place from Monday 10th to Friday 14th October 2022 (shortly after the children enter Year 6).

You are invited to an in person meeting in the Main School Hall on Monday 7th February at 9.15 am or 5.30pm where you will have the opportunity to watch a short clip regarding the location and what it has to offer and ask any questions that you may have. Hopefully you will be able to attend one of these 2 meetings.  However, if you are not, and you have any questions, do please speak to me.

At Condover Hall fully trained and qualified instructors, with the support of school staff, provide instruction in a full programme of activities in a safe, controlled and secure environment.  The Condover Hall centre is the flagship JCA Adventure centre with a wealth of facilities including a swimming pool.   There are literally hundreds of activities on offer ranging from raft building to tunnelling (an indoor tunnel system).  Others include a high tech lazer maze, dance studio, fencing, hire wire courses, zip wires, abseiling, kayaking, rock climbing and leap of faith (to name but a few).  Evening activities are also on offer and include a silent disco, campfire, nocturnal safari and film night.

For further information about the trip, the activities, the centre etc. please check the website: http://www.jca-adventure.co.uk/activity-centres/condover-hall and you will be able to see for yourself how worthwhile and enjoyable these visits are!

The total cost of the visit to Condover Hall is dependent on the number of children going and includes: full board accommodation, transport from the school to the centre and return, insurance, all instruction and activities, equipment & safety equipment, evening activities programme, achievement certificates and comprehensive insurance.

This year the school are delighted to be able to offer a £100 contribution towards the cost of the trip for every child taking part.  This is in recognition of the challenging circumstances we have all faced over the past 2 years. We are desperate to ensure that every child has access to this amazing opportunity.

The costs are outlined below:

If 25 children go the cost will be £343 per child (-£100 contribution from school) = £243 per child

If 20 chidren go the cost will be £354 per child  (-£100 contribution from school) = £254 per child

If 15 children go the cost will be £373 per child  (-£100 contribution from school) = £273 per child

Please note that if your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium and has not previously been on a school journey then you will be eligible for a further one off grant of £50 (£150 in total) towards the cost of this trip.

To confirm a place for you child on this trip, please complete the consent form below.  You will then need to pay a £50 non refundable deposit by 1st March 2022 in order to secure the booking.  However, any concerns regarding this, please come and discuss it with us.  Don’t let finance guide your final decision. If you have any questions at all, please do come in and ask us.

Further payments will be scheduled in instalments following receipt of your deposit. These instalments can be paid monthly by parent pay or by bank transfer.
