Year 1/2 Trip to Maritime Museum on UBER Boat
This half term, our topic will be ‘All About Me’. As part of this topic, we will be exploring London and the many different landmarks.
To further children’s knowledge, we will take an UBER Boat trip and visit the grounds of the Maritime Museum. The children will experience travelling on public transport and observe famous landmarks. This will enable them to answer our enquiry question: ‘What human and physical features can I see in the centre of London?’
Trip dates
Year 2 – Tuesday 8th October 2024
Year 1 – Wednesday 9th October 2024
We will leave school at 9:30am with arrival at Westminster Pier for 10:25am. We will travel from Tooting Broadway tube station to Embankment tube station, before walking to Westminster Pier to board the UBER boat. We will travel along the River Thames from 10:37am and then have lunch at the grounds of the Maritime Museum before returning back to school for 14:00pm.
All children in Year 1 and 2 are entitled to a free school meal and will be provided with a packed lunch. Please read the Pre-Order Form for information on the choices available and allergens (which can be found in the Year 1/2 section under 'Letters Sent Home'), before making your choices on the online consent form. Please note that this will be your child’s packed lunch choice for all trips this academic year. You will need to provide a bottle of water for your child to have with their packed lunch.
School uniform and sensible shoes should be worn on the day and children will need a rucksack in order to carry a water bottle and their packed lunch.
We require parent volunteers. If you are able to volunteer for the morning, please inform the class teacher and select the option on the consent form below.
Please complete the consent form below for your child to take part in this trip.
Yours sincerely,
Miss De Freitas
