Year 5 Cycle Training
We have 20 places for Year 5 children to undertake a 2 hour Level 1 cycle training session at school on Monday 26th June 2023.
Wandsworth Council approved cycle training instructors will carry out the training. The sessions will take place from 10 am to 12 noon and 1pm to 3pm at school.
Level 1 training is aimed at Year 5 pupils as a way of teaching them safer cycling skills and will consist of a two-hour session, the first part of which would be carried out in a suitable classroom with the remaining practical part to take place in the playground.
Children will need to bring their own roadworthy bike of a suitable size and be able to ride that bike satisfactorily in the playground. Cycle helmets will also be required. Please also provide a bike lock so your child’s bike can be secured when not being used.
Please note:
- This 2-hour session teaches cycling skills only. No ‘on road’ training is involved.
- The Council and instructors cannot be held responsible for any injuries to participants or for damage to their bicycles, clothing or theft of belongings, or for injuries to other people or their property.
- Pupils taking part in training sessions do so at their own risk.
- Pupils attending training on un-roadworthy bikes or misbehaving during training will be excluded from the session, at the discretion of the instructor.
